Caution: The repeated use of social media could
be dangerous to your  kids well-being

Should we all have sawbones general’s
warning label slapped on to each and every social media site out there? What
about some sort of age rating system like those we have for music  , video games and movies? No of course not .
The internet is all about  Liberty of
speech and expressing our idea and  it is
a wealth of  erudition . But we all
persist to get the message that social media is dangerous for our kids . Even I
have written a couple of articles to that effect that I mentioned

you see using of social media is dangerous to your kids okay..!  so you can keep off of social media or
better yet go and live inside the caves or under rocks Somewhere ….

as I indicate on it and watch how our children use social media, also we
wouldn’t be a equitable  parent if we
didn’t look at both sides of the  topic. yes we all know that, social media can
be dangerous to our children sometimes , but there are lots of caveats to that statement.
In real, the statements need to be really qualified. “Unmonitored” social media
makes that statements much more true than without the descriptor. But I won’t
be dissecting that statements. Instead I’ll offer one that is potentially
controversial : Social media maybe actually be good for  our  child.

would like to preface my reasoning however. I’m not saying to just turn our
childern lose on social media. I am, however saying that not all of the aspects
are dangerous
to them. In real, I believe that some of social media, in moderation, can have
a positive  impact of a child’s life.

are ? reasons to consider as to whether or not your children should use social
media. Remember that, also it does depend on the age of our children, their
emotional maturity and how much time
we as a parent can devote to coaching
them, so I’m not condoning signing your
4-year old up for Face book. Twitter,

media is, in real, social, despite the critics saying that it encourage a lot of
individual screen time on computers and smart phones. There are so definite
generational gap between kids, parents and grandparents now in our generation .
Children now are growing up with screens as an perfect part of their lives, if
you like it or not. Their parents (my generation) are in that gray area, some
of the parentes believe in technology while others do not. And many parents
find the whole idea of technology to be completely foreign, complicated and

are quickly adapting to new apps and social services that allow them to be more
communicat with their friend and that’s will make kids to not be shying and
they will express their feelings honestly, regardless of distance or time of
day. Having
play dates … or sorry,  childs have
corrected me recently… already play dates are for little kids. They are now
called “hangouts” (hmmm, did Google know this before they did?).

Anyway , having hangouts isn’t always emprical.
And this is where a little bit of online socialization can keep the
relationships stronger and current. Instead of physical hangouts

have a digital ones.

it or not, children who are 9 year old actually uses Face Time to do their
homeworks with their classmates. This could be done with via a Google Hangout or
Skype or whatever, but the idea is that it is a social and
it is good to our kids to using technology. This is also could be viewed as
just a new form of communication , much like the phone call that
we use now  was to  us parents was too weird .

in kids elementary schools, they are using Google Docs to collaborate their
homeworks on schoolwork, to leave comments

replay to questions from their peers. This is being  learning as part of the course curriculum as I
believe that it should. But the interesting thing is, now almost of the
children are already doing this online collaboration naturally.

of the great things of social media is the fact that new “things” or
information about everythings are shared all of the time. This is an area where
possible dangers lie, especially if  children have unmonitored access to any type
of social media that they want. However, that is also the area of discover  and finding information. One of  the  childrens learned how to make  channel tape wallets, cases and decorations by
watching YouTube videos that he discovered on his own. One
of  the childrens loves dancing specially
ballet so she uses various social media services to find more about ballet, the
art of dance or culture in general. she follows many ballet dancers and gets a
better vision for her own performance art.

media enables finding and learning in ways that we could never have
imagined before. Without it, the exposure to new ideas would be must
more limited I believe for children .

I mentioned in a previous point schools are starting to teach kids how to use
online tools and how to interact with their peers online. As these children are
the tech-connected generation, the ones with computers and smart phones as
common as the plain old corded telephone was for my generation, we have to
prepare all of  them for the future. To
be competitive in the new ways of business and projects , they need to view
technology as a tool for success in the world. Obviously, this  success depends on what their interests are
and what type of access they have to technology. But already that is the
subject of another conversation.

media already turned traditional marketing upside down. Instead of
traditionally blasting a single message to the masses of people, with social
media, it’s all about the conversation, the engagement and the trust that comes
from the social relationship in social media. Kids get this. They have already want
the personalization. They understand it and now they are growing up with it.
And, I believe that is preparing them selfs for the future so that they can
discern the difference between someone spamming them with a false message and
someone else being truthful and genuine. Because they are already  growing up with this operation now, via the
online social  fundamental interactions
they are having now, they will be even more capable those things as they adult.
I actually feel and thought that those who do not have exposure to how use  social media as children, They will
potentially have a harder time

familiar with it as adults. Of course, that may be entirely fine for them. It
is a personal choice. But by the side think about that childern who were denied
sugar or TV as a children ( yea I was that child)… as soon as they are free,
the pendulum swings the other way can you say sugar  grain and Saturday Morning cartoons?

last reason in all probably is the most interesting reason. Picture sharing in
all social sites are incredibly popular. Even if that traditional text-oriented
social media services have incorporated images into their offering and have
made them even more out standing than before.  All children now spend a lot of time  in creating that perfect picture to take, then
choosing the best filter to apply,
dreaming up the most exciting words to write and identifying the best hash tag
to use when they share their artistic inspire. I personally like this
creativity. Even if we go to walk the dog, already they have their artistic
glasses on. Social media has brought out the creativity in people and children
are dependence on it without even thinking.

This is new creativity, I believe in, it is
supposedly by both technology and social media. They have the tools in their
hand to create something fantastic now ,and of course, also they now have the means
to share their creativity or idea with the world of via social media

 • For children and teens, social media is an  basic part of their lives, much the way
telephones were important to us at that age wich they are in now.

nearly 80% of teens have used some form of social media and nearly 65% of the
teens have a profile on a social networking site, experts said that. More than
half of all teens around  all of the
world visit  so many social networking
sites every day. Actually These numbers are way up from just a few years ago,
and there is inspired no chance of them ever coming down again.

are  so many plenty of good things about
social media but also many possible dangers and so many  things that you want your kids and teens to
avoid it. They  do not always make the
smartest choices when they post something to a site like Face book or YouTube
or instagram, twitter or in many sites that you can post in it, and sometimes
this can lead to bad cases or problems .

it’s important for parents to teach their kids how to use social media wisely
and protect them from bad sites or channels in social media because it is
already their jobs to keep an eye about what children do in social media .

media could help children :

To stay connected with friends and family every
where and that’s good

or get involved with a campaign, nonprofit, or charity

their creativity through the sharing of ideas, music, and art

and interact with others who share similar interests

flipside is that social media can be a hub for things like cyber bullying and
questionable activities. Without meaning to, kids can easily share more online
than they should.

study showed that 9 out of 10 teens post photos of themselves online or use
their real names on their profiles; 8 out of 10 reveal their birthdates and
interests; and 7 out of 10 post their school name and the town where they live.
Actions like this can make kids easy targets for online predators and others
who might want to cause them harm.

statistics about teens highlight the dangers of social media:

of teens say they’ve been contacted online by someone they didn’t know in a way
that made them feel scared or uncomfortable

of teens say they’ve received online advertising that was inappropriate for
their age

of teens admitted to lying about their age to gain access to websites
