I (PCRWR) that 80% of total population of Pakistan

I Muhammad Sadiq resident of Skardu Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan Graduated from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in Polymer and Process Engineering want to get admission in Erasmus Mundus Master in Membrane Engineering for a Sustainable World, EM3E-4SW form Europe. As Erasmus Mundus is one of the prestigious scholarships. Erasmus Mundus is the high quality program at master level, Erasmus Mundus Master in Membrane Engineering for a Sustainable World, EM3E-4SW offered advanced education program related to the membrane for the sustainable world.

A couple of reason motivates me to apply for the master degree in the membrane. Firstly when I did my research project on Mixed Matrix Membrane for water desalination, in this project I synthesized and Characterized the Polymer mixed matrix membrane for desalination. solution casting technique used for Membrane preparation, I used modern characterization technique such as Fourier Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Universal Testing machine and Optical microscopy for characterization of the membrane. I came to know many research works have been done on Polymer membrane, a lot of work is doing in Polymer membrane for desalination of water, the membrane for Fuel cell, membrane for gas separation has studied a lot of research paper and motivate for higher studies in membrane technology. I attended the conference “international conference on advanced materials and Engineering Technology” held in University of Engineering and Technology Lahore on 28-29 November 2016. In this conference, I present my research work on the membrane. In this conference, I came to know researcher working on different project, these things motivate me for higher studies.

Secondly According to report of Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resource (PCRWR) that 80% of total population of Pakistan has not access clean water.it estimated that 200000 children in Pakistan die every year due to diarrhea. According to the recent case of hearing in Supreme Court of Pakistan on clean water issue in Sindh, came to know that 90% sample drinking water collected water is unfit for human consumption, Human waste is being deliberately released in water of Sindh. Dangerous Levels of Arsenic in Punjab’s Drinking Water revealed during the case. According to WHO/UNICEF 2017, 2.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water. To eradicate these problems membrane is the basic element, the safe drinking water possible only when separation plant installed. These issues of Pakistan, especially in region Skardu Gilgit Baltistan, compel me to think, how to solve this problem the only solution is the membrane.

Thirdly the Erasmus Mundus Master in Membrane Engineering for a Sustainable World, EM3E-4SW has research direction like “Nano-science and Nano-Technology” “Energy and Environment” and ” Soft Materials are the favorite areas of research these motivate me to apply. In addition, subject to Characterization of porous materials, Polymer materials, Batteries, fuel cells, and Electrolyte are the subjects of my interest.

Fourthly, to pursue this program is its specialized focus on the membrane for a sustainable world; as sustainability of world is the main issue. It obvious from the profile that I persisted with my field in both education and research. I studied different Subject on polymer and have knowledge of polymer, different properties of polymer, different characterization technique. I did research on the membrane and write a research paper, which is under the press in Pakistan Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences. My secondary and undergraduate degrees are in English medium of instruction; therefore, I believe that my Education qualification and motive toward subject make me a suitable candidate for this program.

The reason to join this program as I discuss the issue of water in Pakistan and special our region, after completing this degree in the highly tailored program and good research environment, and studying renowned institute of Europe help me solve the problem of Country specifically our region and my village. The other reason, one of the future goal is to increase the literacy rate in our village, as I belong to the very less developed area of the 21st century, where modern communication system and other facilities are like dream for us. The literacy rate is very low in our region after completing this degree it helps me to contribute to increasing the literacy rate.as I will be the only one to go to Europe for higher education so I will be the inspiration of 10-15 thousand people.

Another reason to join Erasmus Mundus is to explore the world, it gives chance for me visit different European counties and become familiar with the different culture and different mindset people.it helps me to improve my personal characteristics, also help me to understand the different culture and to share my culture with different people. In future, it will help me get the good position in my county.

With this highly international and relevant degree, I look forward to an awesome experience.
